The list of super supplements below is by no means exhaustive. In fact, there are so many great supplements I’ll be adding to the list periodically. There’s just too many to go through all in one go!
Remember though that supper supplements are just that . . . supplements to your diet. They are not meal replacements! In fact, before anything else, you should be focusing on your healthy balanced diet. Take a look at the nutrition guide if you need to work on yours!
I have placed the following supplements in alphabetical order, rather than any order of preference. And that’s because I can only go by research and what other users have to say. I haven’t tried them all to form my own opinions!
But as always, speak with your doctor, physician, or any other appropriate primary healthcare professional before supplementing your diet. There could be contraindications that would make it inadvisable to take a certain supplement.
But without further ado . . .
Acetyl L-Carnitine has anti-inflammatory properties, and aids transportation of fats into mitochondria for burning. Also, it helps to decrease blood sugar and insulin levels, which, all in all, makes acetly l-carnitine a useful aid in a weight loss regime.
Alpha Lipoic Acid has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, and increases your cells’ ability to take in glucose. This increased sensitivity to insulin leads to a decrease in blood sugar levels and therefore accelerated weight loss.
Chromium helps you reduce excess body fat and maintain a healthy level by reducing blood sugar and insulin levels. It is also helpful whilst dieting as it helps to control appetite and reduce sugar cravings.
Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and also has benefits for treating obesity and maintaining your optimal weight. It aids the energy production within the mitochondria, and is especially helpful for those over the age of 40. This is because our cells are less able to produce energy as we get older. This is definitely one of the best super supplements on this list!
Conjugated Linoleic Acid is a fatty acid that can decrease body fat, interestingly around the abdomen. It also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown than conjugated linoleic acid can help prevent muscle loss and weakness associated with aging and disease.
Creatine is used mainly by weightlifters and bodybuilders. It is used to create more ATP which provides energy for lifting additional repetitions and more weight.
Omega 3 Fish Oils are found in oily fish, and have an almost endless list of benefits. They have anti-inflammatory properties, can aid fat loss, improve attention span and memory, maintain healthy serotonin levels, decrease appetite, increase energy levels . . . I’ll be adding more super supplements shortly.
