Cymru Hoody As the Observer Sport Magazine recently pointed out in its Unsung Heroes column, Nicole Cooke is the world's number-one female road cyclist. Since she's British, it asks, how come you've never heard of her? Apart from the fact that women's cycling is of minority interest anywhere west of the English Channel, Nicole is Welsh not English. In 2006, she won the Grande Boucle, the women's Tour de France – leading from start to finish, and the women's World Championship for the second season in a row. She is the best there is and might well become the best there has ever been. The predominently English-centric 'national' media shows little interest in sporting achievement when it's not English. So I am full of admiration for the Welsh athletes who compete for their country, especially since Welsh origin is a passport to obsurity elsewhere on this island. Printed red on 340-gram olive green brushed 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Price: £20.00 (£23.00 inc. VAT) Scroll down for this design on a fitted T shirt . |

Women's Cymru T Shirt Despite being born with spina bifida, a disability that involves the incomplete development of the spinal cord, Tanni Grey-Thompson is the most successful Welsh athlete ever. And she is perhaps, therefore, the exception that proves the rule. Tanni's excellence is such that the media have had to reflect the fact that she is one of our most popular and successful athletes. Her achievements include a string of world records, eleven Olympic Gold Medals and six wins in the London Marathon. She is the only Welsh person to be admitted to the elite Laureus World Sports Academy – a worldwide organisation devoted to encouraging participation in sport – alongside the likes of Michael Jordan, Pele, Michael Johnson and Martina Navratilova. Printed red on 240-gram olive green 100% cotton jersey. Price £14.00 (£16.10 inc. VAT) Scroll down for this design on a sheer white vest . |

Women's Cymru Vest Kelly Morgan's star might have waned of late but while it shone it burned very bright indeed. She first represented her country at the age of 15 and went on to become one of the world's top five badminton players. The highlight of Kelly's career was winning a gold medal for Wales at the 1998 Commonwealth Games when she memorably climbed over the seats to celebrate with her mam and da in the audience. Shuttlecocks might seem soft, but watch Kelly play and you'll appreciate that badminton is a very hard game indeed. Printed red on 240-gram olive green 100% combed cotton rib. Price £14.00 (£16.10 inc. VAT)
