Rhondda 750 Black T Shirt My friend and fellow Fire Monkey, Nick Ashley, the designer chiefly responsible for revitalising Alfred Dunhill's menswear, inspired this piece – although the phrase itself came from the comedian and poet John Hegley. I saw John in a comedy club in London in the early 80s when he told a joke about his motorbike-riding girlfriend from the valleys. “A big bike it was. A Rhondda 750”. Those lines were stuck in my head for years until Nick unconsciously uttered the magic words that unlocked them. Printed white and dark grey on 165 gram black 100% cotton jersey.
