Prince of Wales T Shirt

Charlotte Church is the de facto Princess of Wales, which makes Gavin Henson the Prince of Wales. After his performance in the Six Nations-winning side, that's fair enough.

I'm not a big fan of royalty, or celebrity either for that matter, but I can't help liking Charlotte and Gavin. I suppose Gavin's a sort of Albert to Charlotte's Victoria – an unfortunate analogy, I know, but the only one I can think of given the absense of indiginous royalty – in that he is the partner of a charismatic and powerful woman but seems to remain his own man.

Gav has almost single-handedly lifted the image of Welsh rugby into the realms of coolness, but one of the unfortunate side effects of celebrity in sports stars is that their performance often ends up being of secondary importance to their brand. Let's hope that he understands that beauty lies in a 44-metre winning penalty against England and not in a bottle of fake tan or a tub of hair gel.
