Dai Lama T Shirt

'Dai Lama' is a pseudonym used by my friend Richard Jones to maintain anonymity in hotels while touring. (At least it was! Sorry about that, Rich.)

He told me about it while we were strolling in Highgate Cemetery one afternoon and it stuck in my head, as stuff tends to. 'Dai Lama' is a reference to Rich’s interest in Buddhism. It struck me that had it not been for the Christian Revival of 1904-05, which, as it happened, served to counter growing interest in Marxist philosophy, Buddhism could have been promoted as the perfect religion for the Welsh temperament.
