CWM T Shirt

The CWM and Cwmaman T-shirts (scroll down for the latter) were specifically designed for my friend Richard Jones, the bass player of the Stereophonics, to wear on stage during the band's ‘Pull The Pin’ world tour, which is supporting the album of the same title.

Both Richard and bandmate Kelly Jones hail from Cwmaman, a former mining village in the Aman spur of the Cynon valley, just up the mountain from Aberdare.

I didn’t plan to offer the shirts for sale, but after Rich wore a CWM shirt for the band’s brilliant homecoming gig at Cardiff’s CIA, lots of people suddenly wanted one. So I’ve given in.

For the design of the CWM shirt, I just couldn’t resist the mucky innuendo (it’s pronounced ‘cum’). Although it’s actually an English word that describes a 'barren valley, dale or bowl in the landscape', let's go with the more rock 'n' roll connotation.

Printed white and red on 165 gram black 100% cotton jersey.

Cwmaman T Shirt

The inspiration for the Cwmaman shirt should be self-explanatory if I've managed to make the type resemble winding gear. It mourns the loss of the coalmine, the village’s reason to be, without wishing to be sentimental about it.

Printed white, dark grey and red on 165 gram black 100% cotton jersey.
